The 3 Best Sleep Supplements for Deep Sleep and Recovery 2023

The 3 Best Sleep Supplements for Deep Sleep and Recovery

If you want to improve the quality of your sleep so that you have more rest in the evenings and more energy in the mornings, then taking a sleep supplement can immediately make a positive difference.

But as there are now so many sleep supplements available on the market, it can be incredibly difficult to find one that works for you.

To help you make a decision, in this article I run through some of the best sleep supplements that I have tried in 2023. Although I have tested a few, there’s only so many I can review, so rather than listing each one, here are the best from each category:

  • Pills
  • Powders
  • Drinks

I can’t run a controlled scientific study to objectively determine which one is the most effective, but to give you a good idea of general quality, I will rate each supplement on its price, ingredients, and experience. With experience being the overall convenience and even enjoyment that each product provides.

 1) Innermost The Relax Capsules

Innermost sleep supplement

“Nootropic capsules contain that research-backed ingredients that help reduce stress, promote relaxation and help you get a great night's sleep”

This is a relaxing pill with some seriously good stuff in. The pill format is definitely convenient, but it can either be a blessing or a course. Some may find it easy-to-use, for others it may be one pill too many on top of their normal supplement routine. It’s got great active ingredients, from both mushrooms and plants, but could be improved with the addition of 5-HTP. Also, if you’re looking for a ‘relaxing’ pill, then CBD might be the better option. I don’t love the branding. Efficient, but not pleasurable.

Active Ingredients:

  • Lion’s Mane Mushroom
  • L-Glycine
  • Ashwagandha
  • Valerian Root
  • L-Theanine

2) Sleep Toniq

“A relaxing blend of cold-brew chamomile tea, English apple cider vinegar, blossom honey, and a dash of Spanish orange”

This is the only product on the list that claims to do more than just improve sleep, but also provides a number of other side benefits associated with its ingredients. For example, as a result of the apple cider vinegar and honey, the drink helps massively with IBS and other digestive issues, but may also help with weight loss too. Additionally, the chamomile helps to calm the mind and reduce anxiety. As it comes in a convenient can and tastes amazing, it is more than just an effective supplement, but something I genuinely look forward to.

It's like San Pellegrino for sleep.

  • Chamomile flower tea
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Blossom Honey

3) Space Goods Dream Dust

Dream Dust Sleep Supplement

“Unlock your potential with our powerful, potent mushroom & adaptogenic blend designed to taste great, feel great and help you sleep great”

Dream Dust is a powder that you mix with water, milk, or just about anything, to create a kind of ‘shake’ that you drink in the evening. I love this product. The branding, packaging, and all of the ingredients are spot on. It effectively combines functional products derived from mushrooms, roots, and flowers to promote relaxation from numerous different angles. This product uses Reishi mushroom rather than Lion’s Mane – like the Innermost pills – but the jury is still out on which one works best for sleep. My only slight complaint is that it doesn’t taste particularly ‘natural’ and the flavour may put people off.

Active Ingredients:

  • Reishi Mushroom
  • Ashwagandha
  • Jujube
  • L-Glycine
  • Passion Flower
  • Magnesium
  • L-Tryptophan
  • Chamomile
